Improve Your Smile Today

Porcelain veneers from Robinson Township Smiles are a fantastic way to get the smile of your dreams. In as little as two appointments, you can completely change the way your smile looks, and boost your self-confidence.

Veneers are extremely thin porcelain “shells” that are built to fit perfectly over your existing teeth. They cover up gaps, chips, stains and other imperfections, and can even correct slightly crooked teeth, and some bite problems. They are an affordable, long-lasting way to restore your smile, and Dr. Ryan Rupert specializes in their placement.

Placing veneers is fast, non-invasive, and pain-free. After an initial consultation to determine that you are a good candidate for veneers, Dr. Rupert will design a custom treatment plan just for you. From there, the process usually take two appointments.

At your first appointment, Dr. Rupert will remove a very thin layer of enamel from each tooth that requires a veneer. This creates a better surface for the veneers to stick to once permanently placed. The amount of enamel removed is also roughly the same thickness as the veneers, so this process ensures a completely seamless and natural fit. Although it’s not painful, anesthetic and numbing agents can be used to keep you comfortable during treatment.

After your teeth are prepared, images and molds of your teeth are taken, and Dr. Rupert creates a plan for the veneer design that will work for your smile. All this information is then sent to a third-party laboratory where your new veneers will be created. Each one is custom crafted to match the shape and size of Dr. Rupert’s design. It usually takes around 2-3 weeks for the veneers to be manufactured, but you’ll be fitted with temporaries while you wait.

Once your veneers are ready, you’ll schedule your second appointment. At that time, Dr. Rupert will check each veneer for size, shape, and color. He can make minor adjustments if necessary. And once the fit is right, the doctor will use an advanced dental adhesive to bond each veneer in place.

Best of all, there’s no recovery period. You can walk out of our office with reason to smile!

Non-invasive – Veneers do not require any surgery or other painful procedures. The process is totally non-invasive, and almost completely painless.

Can strengthen teeth – Porcelain veneers can actually strengthen the teeth, in some cases, and may also help to distribute bite force evenly, allowing for a stronger bite.

Requires no special care – Just brush and floss normally, and avoid chewing on non-food objects, like pencils and pens. And don’t forget your six-month checkup with Dr. Rupert!

Completely natural appearance – Veneers look completely natural. People will notice a beautiful smile, and think you were born with it.

No. The process of receiving veneers is not reversible, and your veneers should not be removed, unless one of them is cracked or damaged and needs to be replaced with a new veneer.

This is because during the veneer preparation process Dr. Rupert must remove a thin layer of enamel from your teeth. Usually, around 0.5mm of enamel is removed from each tooth that is receiving a veneer. The layer of enamel removed is equal in thickness to your veneers. This step is necessary because it prevents your veneers from adding more bulk to your teeth, and ensures a seamless fit. However, it also means that your teeth will be permanently trimmed.

Veneers and dental bonding may seem similar, but there are actually some major differences between these two procedures.

The biggest difference is reversibility. While veneers remove a layer of enamel from your teeth, dental bonding does not require any of your enamel to be removed. This means that none of your enamel has to be removed when you're having a tooth bonded. The treatment is reversible.

Longevity and durability are some other big differences between these treatments. Veneers are usually made out of porcelain, which is just as strong and durable as your natural teeth and is also stain-resistant. Veneers can easily last 15+ years with proper care. In contrast, bonding uses dental resin which is strong, but not quite as durable as porcelain. It does not resist staining as well as porcelain and usually lasts about 7-10 years once it’s applied.

Another big difference is the price of each treatment. Veneers are typically quite a bit more expensive than bonding. They last longer, so it’s a good investment, but dental bonding may still be a better cosmetic option if you’re on a tight budget.

The typical lifespan of veneers is up to 15 years, but some patients are able to keep their veneers in great shape for even longer. If you want to make sure your veneers last a long time, there are a few key steps you should take.

First, make sure you brush and floss properly, and see Dr. Rupert for regular cleanings every six months at Robinson Township Smiles. It is also important to avoid chewing on non-food objects like pens and pencils, and avoid using your teeth as tools to do things like open packages and tear tape. In addition, do not chew extremely hard foods (ice, almonds, etc.) with your veneers, as this could damage or dislodge your veneers. Instead, chew these hard foods with your molars.

We recommend that you get a nightguard if you grind your teeth at night, as this can quickly damage your veneers. Consider investing in a custom athletic mouthguard if you play contact sports, as this will also help protect your new smile.

The cost of veneers can vary quite a bit based on how many teeth you’re treating, the location of each tooth, your oral health, and a variety of other factors. For that reason, it’s not usually possible to provide you with an accurate estimate until you’ve seen a dentist in Robinson Township for a consultation.

If you’re wondering how much veneers will cost in Sewickly, North Fayette, Oakdale, or Robinson Townships, just contact Robinson Township Smiles for an appointment. After your cosmetic consultation with Dr. Rupert, you’ll get an accurate estimate of the cost of your treatment.
